How do I move my cards to a new phone?
On the old phone: Settings › Advanced › Export backup, and save the file (Files, Drive, email to yourself…). On the new phone: Settings › Advanced › Import backup. Importing merges with what's already there; nothing is deleted.
"Create with AI" says it's busy or I've reached the limit
The AI is free and shared by everyone, so each phone can make a limited number of AI cards per day. If it's busy, wait a minute and try again. Everything else in Recap works offline.
Recap asks before sending text to Google Gemini
To write cards, "Create with AI" sends your text to Google's Gemini AI, so Recap asks first. You can change your answer in Settings › Advanced › "Send text to Google Gemini".
A card the AI made is wrong or offensive
On the Review cards screen, tap "Report" on that card and choose a reason. The card is removed from the list, and we read every report to make the AI's cards better.
What should a spreadsheet look like for import?
One card per row: the front, the back, then tags if you like (for example hola | hello | spanish, greetings). Save it from Excel or Google Sheets as .csv or .tsv, then use + › Import cards › CSV or spreadsheet file.
How do I delete my data?
Your cards live on your phone: deleting a deck moves it to Recently deleted for 30 days, and uninstalling Recap deletes everything. To have the little we store on our server deleted (a random install ID, daily AI card counts and any cards you reported), email us.
